One Sided Parking Restriction

Due to the heavy accumulations of snow on the city streets the Salem Police Department has ordered a temporary parking restriction on all residential streets in the city.

Until further notice vehicles may only park on the even numbered side of the street.

Vehicles are prohibited from parking on the odd numbered side of city streets until further notice. This ban is intended to allow for sufficient room for traffic to pass, specifically police, fire, and ambulance vehicles. Please contact us at 978-744-1212 with any questions about this restriction.

Snow Emergency - 1/26/2015

The snow emergency is no longer in effect

Update: January 28, 2015 3:00 pm

The snow emergency parking ban will remain in effect until 8:00 am on Thursday, January 29, 2015. All vehicles must remain off the streets until the ban has been lifted.

All vehicles parked in alternate lots must be removed promptly following the end of the parking ban to allow for snow removal in municipal and school lots.
