The National Guard First Muster event will be taking place at Armory Park and on the Salem Common this Saturday, April 1st, rain or shine. This marks the 380th anniversary of this historic event and we hope that you will be able to join us.
In conjunction with the muster, there will be road closures in Church St./St. Peter St./Brown St. area as well as the portion of Essex St. between Hawthorne Boulevard and the pedestrian mall from approximately 9:00am to 11:30am. There will also be no parking along Washington Square South.
Also, please be aware that there will be a howitzer cannon salute heard between the hours of 11:30am and 12:30pm.

Snow Emergency 3/13/2017
Update: The Snow Emergency Parking Ban will be lifted as of 11:00 pm on Tuesday, March 14, 2017.
All vehicles must be removed from the school lots by 8:00 am or they will be ticketed and towed.
The City of Salem has declared a Snow Emergency effective Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11:30 pm until further notice.
This includes the Downtown Parking District.
We will begin tagging and towing operations at 11:30 pm even though snow has not begun to fall. Please plan ahead and move your vehicle off of the road before 11:30 pm tonight.
All vehicles must be removed from the streets; failure to do so may
result in ticketing and towing.
