National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

Each year, the second week of April is recognized at “National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week” which serves to recognize the men and women who serve as telecommunicators, public safety dispatchers, communications operators and radio control personnel.

The Salem Police Department is fortunate enough to have five (5) full-time civilian police dispatchers who are an invaluable part of our emergency response. Each day they not only assist 911 callers and the citizens of Salem by answering calls with a calm demeanor and dispatching emergency services to the scene of an accident, fire, or medical aid call but they utilize their attention to detail and technical skills to provide vital information to responding police units. With every call answered and dispatched their commitment to providing the caller on the other end of the phone with the best service possible is apparent and their dedication, professionalism and contribution to public safety is on display. For that we say thank you and officially recognize the following Salem Police Dispatchers for their service to the community and the Salem Police Department:

Lisa Duxbury
Melissa Saraiva
Keegan Stokes
Michael Griffin
