August 31 is Overdose Awareness Day and a group gathered to wear 91
purple t-shirts and 10 black bands in recognition of how Opiate
overdoses have impacted our community. Each t-shirt represents a
reported overdose, and each black band represents a fatal overdose that
has occurred this year.
We would like to remind everyone the
Salem Police are committed to providing any assistance we can to those
